Finished project

Looking back on the final finished version of our music video I can safely say that we have been some what successful. Although perhaps if more techniques, eqipment and performers had been available we could have improved upon it greatly. However we understand that the finances would never have been available to us to sort out various aspects of our video to a better extent. We would have definatly used a different lighting style if we could have planned this better. This would have made our video looked more proffesional and would have made our performer stand out slightly more. This could have focused the audiences attention on the performer to a greater extent. However despite these problems we still feel that we have produced a solid piece of work that grabs the audiences's attention. Overall we are very pleased with final project

Class feedback

After showing our final project to the rest of the class we collected lots of feedback, Mainly the feedback was very positive and it was clear that most of the class were very impressed with our work. We got lots of positive feedback regarding the shots of skating so this was clearly an interesting idea that was handled well. The feedback form the rest of the class is as follows:
Close up of the drums is effective and emphasizes the beat.
The reversal of the boy falling off the skateboard in the chorus works well.
Variation of clips keeps it interesting.
Upbeat energy from the performer.
Good variety of camera shots. Lots of good long shots, close ups and good tracking.
Lots of good settings.
skating shots are good.
Good close up of the performers mouth in the chorus.
The skating clips are well edited
Generally good performances however she sings the wrong part of the song at one point
Good cutaways to the skating clips.

Overall we are very pleased with all the positive feedback because this shows that we have achieved a good project that people are clearly impressed with.

coming to the end of the editing.

After working on our footage for a number of weeks, we are coming to the end of our music video project.
During this time we have edited down the original footage that we shot, that was availiable ealier in the rough cut, and also continued to narrow the rest of the footage shot. After placing the main bulk of the footage and lip-syncing it to the audio, we then went on to cut smaller snippets of footage to place over the top of the main video. By doing this, it gave the video more variety and a snappy editing style, reflecting the upbeat tempo of the song; keeping the audience intereseted as the shots are continuously changing. We added some more effects on to the footage including zooms on some of the shots involving skating. We also used the slow function by clicking apple J when the tempo of the song slowed down so that the video flowed in time with the music.
As we come to the end of our project, we are focusing on transitions and even more effects, trying to see which ones work well and how they can be improved.
